Welcome to Tsz Chun [子俊 Ji2 Jeun3] Kwok [郭 Gwok3]'s academic site!

I am a doctoral candidate in Economics at Uppsala University. My research interest broadly covers population and family economics, and environmental economics. My recent work focuses on how familial factors affect fertility decisions and their broader implications for sustainable development and the global fertility decline.

In my job market paper, I show that the family background and intra-household dynamics are important factors behind fertility decisions. Based on rich Swedish administrative data, I demonstrate that differences in partners’ family fertility norms - measured with fertility outcomes of extended kin - play a crucial role in determining household fertility, and the relative family influence of partners depends on the distribution of bargaining power within the household. Drawing on a new measure of family childlessness exposure, I also document the first empirical evidence of intergenerational childlessness correlation.
